Knowing Christ

Our purpose and life-long pursuit is to know Christ better, become more like Him and share the gospel with those around us.

God's Word

The bible is the inspired Word of God and therefore hold fast to sound orthodox doctrine.

The Trinity

God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Partnership

This church is led by a team of elders (pastors) who are friends and who hold one another accountable in ministry and life. And while being autonomous we remain accountable and have an interdependent partnership with other churches in our region as well as with New Covenant Ministries International.

Developing Leaders

Every believer is equally valuable to God and able to grow spiritually into a place of maturity, being able to minister and lead others. As such, we endeavour to identify and create space for individual gifting.

Eldership

God has established that a local church should be led by elders and our team of elders govern the church pastorally and carry the responsibility before God to diligently lead and tend the flock that He has given us.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit and that He continues His workings in the church today.

Ministries

It is our desire for every person in the life of Riverflow Church to get involved in a homegroup. We call these home group meetings “Streams”. These Streams are small cross-cultural groups of people, representing all ages and walks of life that meet once a week in homes across Upington and in the nearby town of Keimoes. Growth and vitality are an integral part of our church culture and because strong relationships cannot be developed over a cup of coffee after the Sunday meeting we encourage partners to join a Stream. It is in the Streams where we see community come alive! When joining a Stream, you can expect to share a meal together, discuss Scripture, share stories, and build strong authentic friendships, one of our vital core values. These Stream meetings provide the opportunity to be interactive and develop as a real and caring family.

Streams (Homegroups)

Men are called to lead - to lead themselves and their families in a godly way. Our Men’s Coffee Ministry is a platform where men, like a band of brothers can have discussions over a cup of coffee and do life together. We equip, reconstruct, establish and release men to have an impact in this city and beyond. We do this by holding one another accountable, building good friendships and studying God’s Word. Come and join us the last Friday of every month @theVenue, 6am.

We provide a welcoming, comfortable and private facility where feeding moms can relax while caring for their baby’s needs. There is a sound link to the room so moms can listen to the message if they wish.

The task of leaders is to raise up leaders. There is no greater place to start than in the infancy of the next generation…our children. We consider Children’s ministry to be a vital part of discipleship and never a place to ‘babysit’ young children. “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it” is the encouragement of scripture. Children between the ages of 2 years and 5 years are catered for in this Ripples group. We encourage moms with children in this age group to be a part of this ministry.

Women in the Word Ministry

As children grow up they are like empty vessels needing to be filled. This is a great opportunity to fill them with the word of God in a way that is fun and vibrant. Our committed team of ministry leaders serving in Riverkids are extremely intentional in their approach, helping fill their hearts and minds with everything good and pure, hoping for it to yield a crop one hundred times greater than what was sown.
